Each time I think of flying to the USA, I'm glad I don't have to yet. My brothers are older, and worked hard all their lives, so one day sooner or later I'll have to go to a funeral, unless I go first. I'm not looking forward to the tense atmosphere of airports, the anxious searching and waiting, the fear of crowds, of missing the plane, confronting officials, who constantly watch out for troublemakers. The best part of flying is getting back home.
It’s heartbreaking to see what has become of this country: like pre-civil war with the added factor of nihilism.
All my grandchildren live abroad and have dual citizen. But we keep close through internet and visits.
Don’t be afraid to return here since you have a wonderful home base in Portugal. I suggest you visit your brother when he’s alive and worry less about the future.
